絹香？
「あっ、繭の匂いがする!!」と、新着スカーフの写真撮影に追われる私の作業部屋に入ってきた母が思わずあげた一言。
「お母さん繭の匂いがわかるの!?」と、こっちこそビックリ!!
私の幼少時代、うちの近所にも養蚕をしている家はまだたくさんありました。
通学路から一歩入れば桑畑がたくさんあったのに、いつの間にか養蚕農家も桑畑も見なくなってしまったことに、ちょっぴり哀愁を感じると同時に、絹が生まれるまでの手間隙を思い、絹の価値を再認識させられました。
それにしても養蚕をしていた訳でもないのに、繭の匂いを嗅ぎ分けた母にはビックリ!!
でも、私も今では絹の香りはわかりますよ。ただ、それが繭の香りだと知らなかっただけで!!
